2025 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference Kicks Off in Huzhou, Highlighting Technological Innovation for Green Transition

HUZHOU, August 13—The 2025 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference opened in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. The event was jointly organized by the China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE), the Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology (ZAST), the CPC Huzhou Municipal Committee, and the Huzhou Municipal People's Government.

 

Nearly 300 participants, including scientists, educators, entrepreneurs, and investors from international science organizations, leading domestic and global universities, national academic societies, and green technology enterprises, attended the conference.

 

Luo Hui, Executive Secretary and Director General for the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), and Chen Qingcang, Vice Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), delivered opening remarks.

 

Other speakers included Liu Zhenmin, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change; Erik Solheim, former UN Under-Secretary-General; Jeffrey Chiang Choong Luin, President of The Institution of Engineers of Malaysia (IEM); and Chen Hao, Secretary of the CPC Huzhou Municipal Committee.

 

The conference, themed "technological innovation supporting green transformation and development," marked the 20th anniversary of the concept that "Lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets."

 

It featured academic discussions, industry matchmaking, international exchanges, and public engagement, offering a pragmatic platform for cooperation.

 

A special seminar was dedicated to exploring how the "Lucid waters and lush mountains" philosophy drives sustainable development. Experts shared insights on building ecological civilization, accelerating green transformation, and improving global environmental governance. The seminar highlighted China's remarkable achievements in advancing sustainability and called for stronger international solidarity to build a harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature, contributing to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
